NFL National Anthem Protests Are Hitting Earnings Hard — Here’s How Bad It Is

The players who decided to protest during the national anthem has destroyed the National Football League’s ratings.
Their disrespectful behavior has angered the fans, who decided to stop buying the tickets and boycott the NFL.
Recently, there was one report that revealed how much the ratings have dropped.

According to Independent Journal Review, as the years are passing, the ratings for Fox Sunday’s NFL game have decreased by 7 percent. The worst part is that this NFL season is active for only six months.
One reporter from CNBC stated: “NFL ratings [are] weak so far. This was negatively impacted during the first 2 weeks by hurricane disruption, but is disappointing given the soft comps – if ratings do not improve materially, we see a potential headwind to domestic advertising revenues in Q2/Q3 ’18.”
The protests were occurring more often since President Donald Trump shared his remarks regarding the players who disrespected the country by kneeling or staying in their locker room. Since he shared his well-deserved comments, the number of national anthem protests has significantly increased.
However, Trump said what had to be said and he continued his discussion on Twitter, where he explained that the attendance ratings have dropped.
President Trump also advised Vice President Mike Pence to abandon the game where his hometown team played, Indianapolis Colts, which only angered the players even more.
Furthermore, CNBC reported: “Twenty-First Century Fox is slated to report fiscal first-quarter earnings on Nov. 8.
The company’s stock has underperformed the market this year with its shares down 7 percent in 2017 through Wednesday, compared with the S&P 500’s 14 percent return. Shares of Twenty-First Century Fox are up 0.3 percent midday Thursday.”
Hopefully, the drop of the ratings will force the players to stop this pointless protesting and continue with the job that they are hired to do.
